MUSIC
"Klein’s work is smart and sophisticated, accessible even to the untrained ear, and a cool, clever blend of things both old and new...incredible album..."
- Ken Hedgecock, Classical Music Discoveries"
"A thoroughly enjoyable album that proves that modern compositions are just as important as some of the classics."
- Darren Rea, reviewgraveyard.com
"...carefully put together and skillful in the use of both traditional acoustic instruments and electronic enhancements...
- "infodad.com"
...the music here invites the listener into Klein’s unique musical explorations of sound and texture with a variety of unique pieces that are quite engaging. Klein’s guitar piece is certainly worthy of attention for performers on that instrument."
- Steven A. Kennedy, Cinemusical
ABOUT
Eric Klein has had chamber, electroacoustic, and orchestral works performed in the USA and Europe. In addition to scoring for feature film such as Christopher Ward’s “Person of Interest”, his chamber music album "The Myth of Tomorrow", recorded by modern music ensemble Contemporaneous and released by Parma Records, won the Independent Music Awards for Best Classical Album of 2019.
As one of eight international composers selected by Parma Records to compose orchestral fanfares for recording by the London Symphony Orchestra, his “New Day Fanfare” received the 2024 Platinum Winner Award by the LIT Music Awards for “Best Classical Music” and Silver Medal for Composition and Contemporary Classical Music by the Global Music Awards.
Having received orchestral performances and recordings in the U.S., U.K., Italy, Spain, Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria, Eric has extensive experience in working with orchestras, producing and mixing orchestral recordings. He is also sought out by other composers for orchestration projects and Sibelius score preparation.
As a classically trained musician, Eric studied classical guitar with Norbert Kraft, Rick Summers, Eli Kassner and attended the University of Toronto and the Royal Conservatory of Music. Though his knowledge of composition, orchestration and exposure to 20th Century symphonic music was through his father, composer and professor Lothar Klein.
Eric has been involved in all aspects of music recording, performing, production, and technology. In 1996, he joined Waves to become the World’s 1st salesperson of “plug-in” software. He continues to work with the World’s leading manufacturers in the development of audio and musical products and has provided engineering consulting on recording projects for such artists as Michael Jackson, Omar Hakim, Wendy Carlos, Lisa Loeb, and the The Tony Levin Band.
Eric Klein lives in Montclair, New Jersey.
